“On the international day of action against Operation Kagaar on March 28th, we organized a demonstration in the center of Helsinki, at Narinkkatori. At first we read our leaflet as a speech and then shouted slogans. Our main slogan was “Down with Operation Kagaar! Long live the Indian revolution!” Other slogans were, among others, “Finland out of India!”, “Found the international Anti-imperialist League!” and the slogans of the original FACAM call.

Several passersby paid attention to the demonstration, and as we distributed leaflets, a few came up on their own initiative to ask for one to read. Our speeches and shouts were heard loudly, conveying our revolutionary fervor to everyone around us.

The day before the International Day of Action, we organized a meeting between different organizations. First, we gave a presentation on these same topics, after which we watched a video about the life of Maoist guerrillas in India (India’s Red Tide – SBS Dateline) and also a video about Operation Kagar (Operation Kagar – The Final Warning – Revolutionary Students’ Front). A total of four different organizations participated in the meeting, and there was a consensus among each that there is a basis and potential for cooperation both regarding the situation in India and in other anti-imperialist issues. The meeting also discussed the upcoming founding conference of the Anti-Imperialist League, which, like the main topic of the meeting, raised awareness and aroused interest.”
